Forthcoming Workshop and Retreat

Yoga Nidra, Creative Writing, and Lucid Dreaming

Participants and workshop teachers will:

gather for 4-7 days in a retreat location for daily immersion in yoga practices, including but not limited to nidra;

engage in a series of creative writing activities, exploring multiple genres to experience the effects of each form of exercise and self-expression;

and

practice stimulating daily dream recall and lucid dream awareness and interaction.

Prior to meeting for the retreat, workshop participants will build their skills in each area–yoga, writing, and dream interaction–through module study, self-practice, and small-group sessions (virtual and otherwise) that will help each participant to gain more value from the in-person workshop retreat experience. Participants will have opportunities to continue to build on their development in each skill area in post-workshop reflection activities and continued community support forums, formal and informal, that help each participant to consolidate and continue to learn from the workshop experience.

CURRENT WORKSHOP STATUS

This workshop retreat may take place multiple times in various locations, so participants will have more than one option for where and when to take part.

Now is the perfect time for this workshop design process to include input from interested would-be participants! If you would be interested in taking part in one of the workshops in this series, then please feel encouraged to reach out with your questions, ideas, and suggestions–concerning everything from curriculum, to schedule, to location.

Probable locations for workshops include coastal California, coastal Washington or British Columbia, coastal North Carolina, and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Additional locations (e.g., Austin, Texas; Empire, Michigan; Kalispell, Montana; or Acadia National Park in Maine) may make a better fit for interested participants. Please feel free to make suggestions.

Workshop design is well underway. The 4-7 day retreat will feature planned activities, optional pathways through the curriculum, and free time. While, ultimately, people will travel to attend the workshop retreat, I would like for the workshop designs, to the greatest extent possible, to come toward each participant in this planning stage.

Whether you are interested in taking part as a teacher, as a participant, or as an assistant or collaborator of some kind (e.g., as a musician for live performances, or as an artist offering mini-workshops within the larger schedule of events) please contact me {Mark Spring} at momentasana.yoga@gmail.com to start our conversation.
